This little minidrama, wherein one of the Command Post bloggers (if you don't check the Command Post daily, do so - excellent collaborative warblog), having posted what turned out to be a bad report on a munitions seizure in Saudi Arabia, loudly and angrily announced his mistake, is a fine example of how blogs can blow the wheels off of mass media. Not just a correction, this was a full-throated declamation of error and explanation. It was delivered with fire and fury, and the blogger (Alan Brain of Australia) took full responsibility for the problem, while explaining the full provenance of the report.
This is how journalistic checks-and-balances should work.
